Ernie Glover presenting, Water Conservation
As a Facility Managers, you likely have already been asked by management or director to reduce your facility’s water consumption by 10 – 20%. Low flow faucets and waterless urinals can only take you so far; you need measurable, verifiable water savings. You know your cooling towers and boilers are some of your largest water consuming processes. This is where you can often achieve a 5 – 20% water savings.
As our drought continues, municipal water quality may worsen as supplies shift from surface water to well water. The increased hardness and dissolved solids will challenge the water program even further, increasing the scaling / fouling risk.
With some creative engineering and input from facility managers, water conservation can go where no man/woman has gone before.
